Hi everyone,
I just found this site last night while trying to do some research on jobs/schools in Michigan. I am moving to central Michigan (Alma, to be exact) in a couple of weeks and want to go to nursing school. I have been told that to get in-state tuition costs you have to work full-time for a year so I thought I would try to get a job as a CNA to get some experience in the field before school (I have currently been working for a local City). I talked to someone there who mentioned that a lot of nursing homes and hospitals offer on the job training but I am kind of at a loss as how to find them. I have searched online and I can't find anything about on the job training and figure it would be easiest to wait until I move in a couple of weeks but I'd love to get started looking now. So my question is - how do you go about finding those on the job training opportunities (from what I can see, most of the jobs want 1 year experience and certification) and what areas are near Alma that might have this? Thanks so much in advance!!
