Just wondering if you enjoyed your CNA training? If yes or no.... were there specific reasons you did/did not enjoy it? Also, did you CNA instructor ever do any sort of games or presentations that you really liked?? The reason behind all this is that I just got hired to be the program coordinator for a high school CNA program. Looking to make it fun/interesting!! :) Thanks for you input! :clown:

I had a blast in my CNA class. My instructor taught with a mixture of reality, humor, and experience. I learned the most from doing the hands-on stuff.

The only thing I didn't like was the mannequin we had named Annie. It was creepy looking.

Congratulations on getting that position~

Hahah... they definitely are creepy!! I went in to my class the other day. I was the only one in the building and I was working in my office... I kept feeling like they were watching me! :)

My class was soooo boring. We had 100 plus slides on a powerpoint per class. And it was evening, so when the lights were turned out, all I wanted to do was sleep. Avoid the powerpoints, and if you have to do them, don't put paragraphs on them, or put pictures and at least try to make them interesting, break them up with skills, etc.

Something I really enjoyed was getting up in front of the entire class and doing the skills individually. Sure, sometimes it was embarrassing (especially at first) but we all learned from each others' mistakes.

Good luck with teaching and organizing!

My cna class was fun. I do admit it was hard getting up on weekends to be in class 9-5 sat and sun But the instructor was so sweet and funny she knew her stuff and we all passed. I really enjoyed my class I was nervous at first but everything went great. The students was really nice also!

Thanks for your input!! Very helpful!! :)

I too enjoyed going to CNA classes. I Got laid off so this was a second career for me. It was diffidently interesting. I never really thought about getting into the health field now I am on my way to becoming an LVN.

I enjoyed the material but my teachers did not want to be there and they let us know. They were also extremely harsh on people in clinicals if they had a hard time performing a skill...even if it was their firsts time doing it on a person. I loved learning and especially the patient interaction but the teachers made the atmosphere miserable.
