CNA Skills Test Out

Published

At my school we are required to take a CNA course before entering the major. In addition to that, the first week of class we have to "test out" of our skills. It's been over a year since I passed my CNA exam so I am freaking out a bit. If we don't pass, we have to work specially with an instructor to practice. The skills are vital signs, feeding, oral care, full bed bath, pericare, dangling, and transfers. In addition we also have to pass a basic math/conversions exam. I have worked as a CNA for a year so I am familiar with these skills but not in the way they expect us to present them. I am scared to death of this test!!!! Anyone else have to do this for their school??

Oh yeah we had to do that. Our school provides us with "critical points" lists that show the things we have to hit in the order they want to pass so we know the way they want it done.
