Hi All,

I am currently doing my pre-reqs for the RN program and I have limited time to spare. Does anyone know of a CNA program that does weekends or a short 8 week session. I would prefer winter session or summer so I can commit my studying time to my pre-reqs but I will take all the leads I can get. Thanks!:heartbeat

I know the American Red Cross offers classes for $1450 and the class is one month long monday-friday 8a-5p. They are offered at the East L.A. Branch, Canoga Park and I forget the other. The number for information is (800) 627-7000.

you should also check your local junior colleges. they are much cheaper

I know Ventura Community College has the CNA class in the fall. You can do lab on a Saturday and lecture one morning a week. I was considering taking this, but scheduling is an issue since I'm currently working full time.

I've heard that some convalescent homes or rehab centers will hire you as Nurse's Assistant and train you for your CNA... not sure how that works yet since I'm still checking it out.

I also want the option of working as a CNA during nursing school.

El camino college does have 8 wks program 3 days a week. On just finished the program on October 22, and I really liked it. Now, I am looking for a job.
