New CNA Help

  1. Hi all! I was wondering if anyone can help me. In 1999 I received my nurses aide certificate. I have since then never worked as a CNA. Now I'm 26 years old, I have a wonderful family, and I am sick of sitting in an office all day. I have applied for several jobs for Resident Care Aides and CNA's. All have lead nowhere. Since I have never used my certification do I need to take the classes again, or just take the test again. Any advise that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

In most if not all states you will have to retake a class and the certification test if you have not at least worked 8 hours in the last 2 years.

Follow the link in my signature below to the complete list of CNA registries. Find your state and look for FAQ's. Normally, this question is answered for you there, as far as, if you need to retake the classes and certification test.

    Good luck to you.
