Any of ya'll have any direction as how to transfer your CNA certification from another state? Say... Arizona to Texas. I need to do this as soon as possible. Any direction would be MUCH appreciated. I've been going round and round on the internet for a while now... Ugh

Best thing to do would be to contact the state agency of the state you're moving to.

Hi, cfmp11!

This is not as difficult as you might think it will be. Go to the thread on this forum entitled "complete list of cna registries" (or, here is the link for you https://allnurses.com/forums/f265/complete-list-cna-registries-171787.html ) and click on the link complete list of cna registries there. It will take you to a web page that lists all the state registries, contact information and has links to their webpages. It sounds like you're going to Texas, so I would go to the Texas registry site and see what kind of information they have on their site about transferring your certification. If the information is not listed there, then call the Texas registry. Their phone number will be given somewhere in that information. Transferring your certification from state to state is not much different than it is for rn and lpns who transfer their licenses from state to state. Best wishes. Post a message back on this thread and let others know how this process went for you so others know how it works. Have a safe move.

Hello,

assuming that you are planning to move to Texas (as per your example), I am providing a link here for you to click on. This will tell you exactly what you need to do in order to "transfer" your certification to Texas. This is called "reciprocity" by the way!

It also states that it will take 2-3 weeks depending on how long it takes for you and your former employer to get the forms back to them. You must also have a Texas address in order to receive your certification from them, otherwise, it will be "inactive" until you provide a Texas address.

just click here!

Good luck,

jay

I moved to Tx from another state and really just needed proof of certification and was given an job. So I would just check with the employer where you're wanting to work.

What you are wanting to do is do reciprocity for the state of Texas I currently live in Texas and I am moving to NJ and all I had to do was file forms and pay 30.00 and do fingerprinting. I do not know if Texas require you to do finger printing because when I got mines in 2006 I did not.

I transferred for PA to IA and my DON did what needed to be done for me.

It's actually really easy. I moved from Ohio to Oklahoma and had my license transferred. All I did was call national network of nursing assistants, and told them I needed it transferred. They mailed me a "reciprocity" form, I filled it out, sent it back, and two weeks later got my new Oklahoma license in the mail. Easy as pie!
