Hello!
I am looking to start classes to become a CNA. I live in Brooklyn, NY. I was hoping someone would be able to give me advice on a good school in the area (by area I mean Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens). I would be taking weekend classes because currently I work full-time for an orthapedic surgeon, as an office manager.
When I finish, I plan on joining 1199 to help in my job search efforts, and of course the benefits. I will then pursue an education in nursing. I do not know if I will stop at LPN, I might just go until I am an RN. (any ideas on furthering my education with 1199?)
I am excited about my career choice, as I have been through school for cosmetology and child psychology. Ultimately I would like to work directly with children, so a setting in a Children's Hospital would be my dream job.
Any information at all that any of you could provide me, or any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! I am going to call some hospitals and 1199 tomorrow to gain a better perspecitive. But I have found the best advice comes from the source i.e YOU.
Thanks in advance for your advice!!! God Bless.

forget the LPN status.....go straight to RN school. if you're going to do it.....do it. there are far more opportunities and choices as an RN. this is not a dig to any LPN out there. the LPN's i was fortunate enough to work with in my career were the very best! diploma school is best, you can go on for your degree after you've become functional. good luck to you :heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat
:loveya:Thank you!
