CNA Facility Training in Los Angeles CA

Published

Greetings All,

I'm extremely interested in becoming a CNA, but am unable to afford tuition . I recently found out that some medical facilities will train you or pay for your training if you commit to working for them for a period of time.

Does anyone know of any Nursing Homes, Rehabilitation Centers, Hospitals, or any other medical facilities that may offer CNA training or Training Sponsorship in the Los Angeles Area? Or even resources that I could utilize to obtain such info would be a great help!

Thanks in Advance.

I have no knowledge of facilities that will train you but I did my training through my local community college. A few of my classmates were from the LA area. It was a 5 unit course and each unit is $47 I believe. Total cost for the course came out to be around $235-ish, which is a far cry from the $1000 other institutions in my area were asking for. If you qualify for financial aid, it would be even cheaper for you. I would advise you to see if your local community colleges have the course available. It may not be paid for but it is still more economical than courses provided by private institutes.

Thank you so much for your response.I haven't been able to find any facilities with on the job training or that provide sponsorship for such training in exchange for guranteed contractual employment. And I've literally cold called all the nursing homes, rehab centers and other medical centers in my area. But I know there is such an opportunity out there, their obviously just hard to find.Unfortunately most low cost CNA programs aren't eligible for financial aid, so at the moment my only option is to go to a more expensive school where financial aid is applicable.Regardless, I don't mind because I know its an investment in my future.

Thanks again for your response.I greatly appreciate the advice.

try your local community college they may have cna programs. I know lacc have one you have to call.

I am actually going to take a cna class at Maxine Waters Employment center and tuition is 600 with everything included. You can try most LAUSD adult schools and I believe they do offer financial aid as well. You just need to take a test, basic english math reading and pass of course and then they place you on a waiting list. I think the cheapest Cna class was at Lynwood but it is really hard to get in touch with those people so you would need to go up there to speak with them.

Also heres the link of all cna classes in california.

Aide / Technician

I have heard of this in other states but could not find one here in socal.

Most people who take these classes for "free" here go through EDD/Social Worker or Welfare program and get vouchers to pay for the class.
