Clinical instructors that aren't fond of one another?

Just wondering...has anyone ever had clinical where you had separate instructors and you could tell that, although they work together (on separate floors, though), that they are just merely tolerating one another? I can sense that between 2 of my instructors. One of the other instructors came late to post-conference and as soon as she got there, and the class coordinator told her that she was late, we were dismissed. There also like little expressions and other non-verbal things that happen. Me and my classmates are like "Okkk..."

Does this happen at other schools too? I can see that it would, but just wanted to get some feedback.

Yes, yes and YES! We have 4 or 5 different instructors, all of which have different views on things and teach things a little differently. They disagree often and a lot of times make it known to the students. It is difficult because each teacher teaches specific topics. If one teacher gives us the lecture on a topic and then we go to skills lab and do it that way on the manikin, a lot of times the instructor who is teaching the lab disagrees and scolds us (a lot of times by yelling or humiliating us) for not knowing the information. It is difficult and frustrating, to say the least.

This happened to my class also! We were taught at least 5 different ways to access a port...but when it came time to be tested on it, we had to do it a certain way, although none of us were sure exactly which way that was. Still haven't figured out how anyone passed that skill :rolleyes:

It is honestly so aggravating! I understand that they have different views and each teach specific topics for a reason... but couldn't they at least agree on one method and test that way as well? Or at least don't scream at us when there is a discrepancy! Talk about nerve racking, it get's me so flustered sometimes I forget what I'm supposed to be doing. I don't know how we pass skills either, I think they realize that they all teach in different ways so they give a little leeway, but it sure makes you feel like an idiot at the time... I'd love to know the correct way!
