Hi everyone. The hospital that I work at has a Clinical Advancement Program for nurses. There is nothing in place for all of the non-bedside nurses that work at the hospital. Has anyone ever heard of a clinical advancement program for nurses not working in the clinical setting? We have a lot of nurses working in Utilization review, clinical documentation improvement, RAC, assess management, informatics, case management, discharge planning etc. A group of us feel that there should be options for all of these nurses as well.

I wouldn't call it a Clinical Advancement Program if it's targeted at non-Clinical personnel.

My hospital has a professional advancement program for all nursing staff. Essentially the staff member has a accrue a certain number of points in various areas such as quality/safety, leadership, education, research, etc.

Don't wait for "them" to develop an advancement ladder for nonclinical nurses. Get together with nurses from all these areas and brainstorm ways to develop one. One poster here says there's one where she works. There are probably others, maybe not in hospitals but in business settings, where they're called "annual review criteria." Start by collecting a few to share at this meeting to get you started.
