Hi, I am a pre-nursing student aspiring to start my nursing journey at UTHSC Pacesetter program in Spring 2025. I am starting this thread to connect with individuals on the same path. I will complete my prerequisites by August 2024 and plan to take HESI the same month. I plan to catch the deadline of September 1, 2024, for Spring 2025 admission. I am nervous since if I don't get admitted this time, I will be wasting more than 6 months. I really hope I get this.

I applied last cohort and was denied because of my transcripts arriving after the deadline. I was sent a denial letter the very last week, while some were getting acceptances. I have plenty of clinical experience so I don't think that's a factor. 

This definitely makes me feel a lot better too! Hoping we hear something soon if not there's no shame in trying again ☺️

I was accepted! Here are my stats:

Overall GPA: 3.91

Prerequisite GPA: 3.7ish

HESI: 94.00

I will not be attending Cizik because I was accepted into another program closer to home but I wish you all the best of luck!!

For all those who are still waiting on decisions, there were at least three waves based on previous years' threads, so keep your hopes up. Plus, there will be a waiting list since not all people who got accepted will go there, so those spots will become available. Just hang in there! You got this!

I still can't believe that I got in! it is surreal!

For those of you who were accepted, do y'all live locally in Houston? Or are you commuting? I live about 50 minutes away but I'll be commuting each day.

I live 30 minutes away in Houston. I may look for an apartment if traffic gets on my nerves.

Hey guys ! so I just heard back and I think my A&P 1 shows as an intro instead of a regular which is super weird because it was lab and lecture and was a full semester not just one semester so I will for sure be applying for next cohort !☺️ Waiting to hear back and see if they take it or not but I already started on my application for next semester 🙏🏻

Hey!

Why you don't go to school and complain. There is nothing called AP intro. I would definitely go to the school.

They sent you an email?

I'm waiting for them to call me back I hope they take it because I took that class at my university and it never once showed as an "intro" ... I'm really confused and hoping it was just a mistake on their end when reviewing my courses . I registered to retake it anyways but that would make me wait until Fall of 2025 since the deadline for Summer is January 15th as I'm now looking at it... I'm going to wait for them to call back but if they don't by the next hour or two I'll call him again .

I took it at my university but if you can test out of it, that's a great idea!
