Would you donate your last hard earned money to give presents and pot luck food donation for Xmas party to your Doctor and Nurse Manager that you are contracted/agency for Christmas ? I guess I have to give the 25 dollars donation for the Christmas gifts to our doctor and nurse manager as i was told by other contract or agency nurses that we wont get our hours if we dont BLEND in...aint that something?

Currently I am a contract nurse in occupational medicine clinic. We dont get any bennies or flight privileges...low pay...no continuing education...working one hour in advance for free in the clinic to keep afloat...always working first or second shift....weekends ...and no recognition from the boss...Our regular staff are in their 70s and can hardly walk...we are doing all the work for them plus also our work while the regular staff book their next vacation on line....It just suck that we do have to humilate ourselves to do all this ...have our hours cut in a heartbeat while they interview outside RN applicants...and then listen to the full time employees boast around about their FAMILIES...BIG CAR..BIG VACATIONS in your face bec YOU ARE NOT ONE OF US...YOU ARE ONLY SELF EMPLOYED....:eek::eek::eek:

Sorry i needed to vent today and thanks for listening. Thanks for your input on these...:o I am just a broke hit and miss occupational clinic contract RN and wanted to hang on to my last dollar in my pocket...

I do have jury duty that day so i am thankful that i dont have to be in a group of people/full time employees who JUST pick on the contract people ...talk about HOW LUCKY THEY ARE WITH THEIR JOB ...BLAH BLAH BLAH about their vacation time...accumulated flight time..grandkids...big house.....latest iphone......etc....:nurse::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin:

Based on the info you posted, I would not donate my last money. I would reconsider getting involved in office politics if it were a permanent job. But having gone to work just two weeks ago with no food in my stomach for several days and using the gas fumes in my car's gas tank because I didn't even have enough change to put a gallon of gas in the car, I doubt that I would spend the last of my money on them. Do you honestly think they would take up a collection to loan you five dollars for a hamburger? Be honest now. That is how I see it.
