Hi, all. I am currently getting my prerequisites at a JC between Tahoe and Sacramento, CA. I hear it is very competitive here to get into a RN program and a job as a new grad. I'm concerned if I don't have close to straight A's I won't get in anywhere.

The plan is to eventually move to the Pacific West coast, I'm wondering if it would be smarter or easier to go to school and work in Oregon or Washington. My fiance has a job in Sacramento he'd like to keep for awhile and we've discussed long distance but I'm thinking it may take some time to gain enough experience to land a job in CA if I did decide to switch my license and move back.

What is the reputation for going to school in CA, OR or WA?

I'm from Oregon currently trying to get in somewhere. I think competitiveness depends a lot on what type of program you are looking to get into? I know the community college where I live is a pretty tough admissions process and some of OHSU's programs are extremely competitive.
