I decided to create this thread for anyone applying to Children's Medical Center of Dallas for the July 2016 Nurse Residency Program! Good luck to everyone! Children's is a GREAT place to work. You will love CVICU. I interviewed, however, I was offered a job elsewhere and the money was much much better than what I woulda got at Childrens. So I decided it to take it. Otherwise, I would have stuck with Childrens. I know a ton of nurses who work in both PICUs (C11 and C12). They are amazing people, but this past summer, they were severely short staffed. I am not aware if that has been fixed or not....but that doesn't mean it's bad there. I hope you get it!!!

Would you happen to know the starting pay at Children's, I'm curious about that as well

It was $24.75 for the group that just started. Not sure if it's the same still, but gives a general idea.

has anyone received another offered and have tried to reach out to HR to notify them and see if they could get a quicker response from Children's so that you could make your decision? I reached out to HR and am hoping she'll get back to me Monday, but just wondering if anyone else had to do that also and if she was able to let you know any sooner

Did you get a reply? I'm hesitant to email the recruiter, but I'm still not sure if notifications are sent out by the 28th or starting the 28th.

On their website it says offers will be extended starting March 28th... I wouldn't be too concerned yet.

The recruiter just said she would talk to the managers to see where they are but that was last Friday. I'm hesitant to send another email because I don't want to be a bother. However, if you did get an offer from somewhere else and are thinking about emailing HR, I would because I heard all managers had to submit who they chose Monday...so she should have an answer by now. I'm not sure if she forgot to email back but I'm just going to give it time and be patient since I already put it out there

It does say starting the 28th, but I can't remember what the interviewers told me. I think they said by the 28th. I just don't want the 28th to come an go without knowing if that's the end or beginning. Anyway, I might email tomorrow. It doesn't affect other offers, so I'll try to be patient, too.

Did you interview for the CVICU? Where did you hear this from?

I did. I asked at the end when they may let me know if it all works out. I always forget details when I'm nervous, so I can't remember if she said I'd know BY the 28th. Someone else posted that they'd let her/him know BY the 28th. I mean, either way, it's just a waiting game. They'll let us know when they let us know! [emoji143]🏻

Or maybe you weren't asking me...lol
