Children's Hospital Summer Internship

I applied for the summer aide internship that Children's hospital is offering. According to their website, they are supposed to start contacting people in the first weeks of April for interviews. I am REALLY hoping to get a spot! I am pre-nursing and am having a horrible time finding a job as a PCT, and am wanting the experience...plus it will hopefully help in the job hunt. Has anyone else applied or heard anything back yet??

Hey!!! I applied also!! I start jeff state rn program this summer but the good thing is that they said they do work around school schedules! I'm also having a hard time getting hired on as a pct. I went through a CNA program and it seems they say I'm OVER qualified for the positions (that's what childrens told me) but hopefully I get the summer aide position! And a little birdie told ne that they do sometimes keep on summer aides sometimes!

That's what I'm hoping too. I'm applying to Jeff St. and Lawson. I never took CNA, but I probably should have. The thing hurting me is not having enough experience. Once we get through our first clinical semester, more opportunities should open up. (Hopefully). Good luck! Let me know if you hear anything!

Word of advice- do NOT do Lawson. I would highly recommend bevill instead!

I already go to Lawson. I'd much rather go to Jeff State, but it's just convenient, and they have all night classes and clinicals. The earliest I could get to class is 3:00, if it's about 15 minutes away. Jeff state would be my number 1 choice if thier night program was full time. It would take 7 semesters instead of 5 for me. If I don't get Lawson, but do get Jeff, I'll go with them.

Hey I applied too! I haven't heard ANYTHING and it's driving me crazy! I just want to know where I stand. I"m currently at UAB pre-nursing.

If you guys hear anything let me know. I figured if I didn't hear anything by now, it may not be a good sign :(

When I talked to the lady over hiring for the summer internship, I was told that they don't have clearance on how many spots are available, but she did say that had HUNDREDS of applications.

Yeah, I figured there were a lot of applicants and I hear it's a pretty competitive spot to get. Thanks for letting me know that. Hopefully we all hear something soon! Fingers crossed :) Good luck to each of you
