I'm 29 yrs old and I took Phentermine 2 yrs ago for about 3 mo. and again 1 1/2 yrs ago for about 2wks. The last time I took it I had a horrible reaction to it (chest pain, nubmness/;tingling all over my body). I immediately quit taking it and seemed to be ok. Mind you I dealt with anorexia off and on for 7 yrs in my teens and even abused laxatives for 6 mo when I was 18 so I'm probably the last person that should have been taking any diet pills but I knew so many ppl that were taking it and I had put on the freshman 15 in nursing school right before my wedding.Blah. FYI I never took more than prescribed. I did drink alot of monsters in my early 20's though (also not smart). I had been an smoking the last two years up until the chest pains started and have since stopped. I was ok for about a year and a half after taking the phentermine. However, about 5 mo. ago I started experiencing chest pains off and on. I went to the ER twice when it 1st started and my EKGs, Troponins, and chest XRs all were normal. I had an echo done though and it showed an estimated pulmonary artery pressure of 37mmHg suggestive of pulmonary hypertension. My primary sent me to a cardiologist who said he wasn't concerned at all with my arterial pressure which seemed strange to me since

These are questions you need to discuss with your healthcare providers. If you are not satisfied with your cardiologist's recommendations, you can always seek a second opinion.
