If you are a graduate of Charity's RN program, and have been-there-done-that as far as NAC-II goes...could you PLEASE shed some insight on the course...what to expect, care map requirements, level of difficulty compared to previous semesters, etc. Thanks in advance!

Nac II was difficult for me as I was there for the post Katrina speed course. It was a beast to say the least. Class time and clinicals were doubled up. I had clinicals from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. It was extremely hard to absorb material and test at such a fast pace.
Had it been a regular semester I would say it would have been no harder or easier than any of the others. I did find the material a little more organized as far as what you study vs whats on the test. The teachers were great also.
Care maps are more involved. No getting around that. They're just more detailed.
Just go in and hit the ground running. By now you are a study machine. Time management is the key.
Also different people are better or worse at different semesters. Don't listen to the hype. I dreaded Peds and Mental Health from the stories I heard but in my case it wasn't so bad.
Good luck and don't aspirate insulin. Hehe

How did you do in Nac 1??? Nac 2 is very simillar and actually you will hear a lot of the same things brought back up again. I too was in the accelerated program after Katrina, and i did the Best in NAC 2. Everything pretty much comes together in NAC 2.
yes the care maps are a little more involved, but its nothing that you cant handle b/c you have gotten this far already. I did average the whole way through nursing school (mostly C's and an occasional B) and in NAC 2 all i made was A's and B's.
I remember the first test being real easy so study your but off and take advantage of it! However Critical Care is what i fell in love with and it was interesting to me... maybe thats why i did good...(im now a Critical Care Nurse)
Dont sweat the EKG stuff either... the test is easy and the teachers there teach it really well. Just know your common rhythms V-tac, V-fib, a-fib... you know the obvious stuff.
Goodluck!

Hey are there any former charity nursing students or nursing teachers that offer tutoring? Or does anyone know of any nursing tutors? Thanks a bunch I'm a NACII student I did really well on the first exam but I'm also a repeat NACII student trying to try things differently this time.
I think CASN does tutoring one day/week. Not too sure though.
Hi thanks crescentcity girl..I tried tutoring through CASN my first time in NACII and the student that was there tutoring was more interested in talking about her problems than actually tutoring and I haven't bothered trying this semester. I was looking for something maybe a couple of times a week to reinforce what I'm learning and studying on my own. You know those charity questions are special kind of questions and going through the NCLEX book all the time just add up to the way they question you. But I might swing by CASN monday afternoon and give it another shot. Thanks

You might want to try to get in touch with SAC, the honor society at Charity. I know their members do tutoring as well, maybe they will be more helpful.
