Changes to ANCC PMHNP-BC Dec.16th?

Hoping for some insight. I take the ANCC PMHNP exam in January. I see they have updated the blueprint and changes went into effect on Dec. 16th. Looks like there are fewer policy/professional questions. Has anyone taken the new format? How was it?

Pocketbook just now updated their prep to match the new exam and it seems like a lot of other sources are behind in updating it, so I am rather worried. Thanks in advance.

ANNC, added more questions to the practice and changed the format slightly, I'm taking the test Monday the 23rd, I don't like that you can't just skip a difficult question and come back to it later.  The good thing is they reduced the length of the test by 25 questions, they should get of the 25 ungraded questions.

Thank you for the reply,

Interesting, I was unaware you cannot skip questions now. I think overall the changes will benefit us. Good luck to you Greg and please let us all know how it goes!

Cannot skip the Practice test questions, the real test allows it.

They cannot do this. This is how they test new questions to determine if they will be placed in the test bank for the actual test (that counts toward your score). They get a lot of useful statistics about new questions this way. It could be disastrous if they simply released new questions into the official test bank and they counted toward your score from the get-go. A question could be poorly-worded, ambiguous, etc. Sometimes the only way to figure that out is to trial a new question and see how test-takers do with it.

It went well. Honestly, if you stick with the "Purplebook" and the ANCC IQ questions you should be fine. I would say the actual exam questions are slightly easier than the IQ questions.  In addition to those two resources, I used board vitals, which I think was great for understanding in-depth concepts but far beyond what is expected for the exam.

Overall, the changes to the exam I think are a good thing for the field.
