Chamberlain College- Phoenix

Published

hi everyone! i just discovered chamberlain college of nursing in phx,az and it seems like a pretty smooth entrance and acceptance process but i have a question. if your act/sat scores are good enough and above what they say the minimum is required, do you still have to take any sort of entrance test to get into the school? i read some about the a-2 test but i did not know if you have to take it if your sat scores are fine?... your information and advice is appreciated! thanks so much in advance!

I think they are making everyone take it at this point. I am in my second semester at Chamberlain and am enjoying it.

Hey thank you so much! I actually took the A2 test and passed it so I'm pretty excited! I'm just waiting for my essay now then they said they would let me know sometime in April if I get in. Not to be too personal, but I was just wanting to kind of know my chances, are you doing the BSN or RN-BSN? BC I'm going for the BSN and my A2 score was 83 and my high school GPA was 3.33..but my college is 2.6..are my chances ok?..!!

It's hard to know because I don't know how many applications they are getting in each semester. I really think you probably have a good chance. There are many people here from different educational levels so I wouldn't freak if you don't have the "highest" scores, because a lot of the people here probably don't. I too am going for the BSN. Good luck!

I am starting at Chamberlain in July of this year (2009) and am already on the list to start. I have heard from my advisor that your college GPA matters more than your high school GPA. They really only use your high school transcript to prove that you graduated. Nothing more. As far as the scores go, they take the first come, first serve... with the highest scores. See, my high school GPA was really low (due to a traumatic experience that happened during that time), but they said not to worry about that since they don't look at the GPA anyway. I have a 3.45 GPA in college and got a 92% on the Entrance Exam along with passing the Essay (which was extremely easy). The advisor did tell me that they will take those with lower GPA's to fill up their spots if they are not filled up (which they haven't since it's ar ealtively new school). With your scores, I'm sure you will get in and do perfectly fine. WHen do you plan on starting? I'm working on my BSN, but immediately starting on the nursing core since I already have the first year pre-reqs finished. Good luck and let us know when you start!

quick question, was looking at the RN-BSN degree they offer, anybody in that program and what is the cost of tuition, thanks in advance:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Chamberlain does offer the Rn-BSN program. It would be best for you to contact an advisor to find out the more pertinent details, such as the tuition and such. Best Wishes.

I start in July :) I'm so excited except tuition is now $7100 a semester and $595 a credit grrrr :angryfire

Congratulations!

I also start in July, but go straight into the nursing classes as I have most all my prerequisites done! Where do you start as far as your pre-reqs? Maybe we'll see each other in classes (even though I don't know your name)! Yeah, tuition went up a bit, but that's okay. In the long run, it's better because it's accelerated! We'll be RN's soon enough!!! I also have everything finished in my acceptance packet! Since I'm a CNA, I already have my titers and just had my physical today. Already got cleared on my background check and urine drug test. I'm all done! :yeah: Even with the clinical packet. :D (Well, except the online quizzes that we need to take online.) But, we don't need to have the clinical packet finished until the sixth week or so. Good Luck and I wish you all the luck! PM me if you want!

I think I will start in the 4th semester since I too have most of my general credits done, all actually except for pharmacology. I have to make an appointment this week to sign up for my classes and whatnot, but it sounds like you are all set to go, that's great! I need to get all my titers and whatnot, I just did my urine test today. Hopefully we'll see each other, and I'm Valerie by the way :D

What is their schedule like...just curious.....

Hello, I am applying for the October semester ,the BSN program. I have most prereqs done with a good GPA. I hope my chances are good? I was just wondering, I spoke with an advisor and she said that the application due date is September 1, but the program starts in October. Did anyone find out sooner that they were accepted? I would have a lot to figure out in a months time.. so I was just wondering if I apply now, will I find out soon if I am accepted rather than play a long waiting game? Thanks!! Ps- how does everyone like the school? I had never heard of it before.
