I applied at these three and Contra Costa as well. Fingers crossed! I already heard back from Contra Costa and am on the wait list. How do these schools rank in terms of your preference, assuming you could choose between all three? Merritt is closest to me but I've heard some mixed reviews- I'm hoping the program has improved in recent years.

@dura.mater , what's your alt #? Have you taken the teas yet? Someone called me last Friday regarding the teas, and she told me to schedule (if I haven't yet) and that there are 5 people who were already taken out of the alt list, I think it's either they failed the teas or they got accepted somewhere.

I'm actually off the alt list and in the program! Attended a welcome reception yesterday that was very informative. I have taken the TEAS and did well so that's a load off my mind. Class of 2019 here I come!

Nice!! Congrats!! Did they say how many were going to be accepted in the alternate list? Or are they still waiting until everyone takes their TEAS?

Thanks! They are primarily awaiting TEAS results which everyone I talked to has yet to take. I talked to two people who did not pass last year and are trying again so there will likely be a few people in that position this year as well.

I'm really hoping I get in too! Although I'm way down the alternate list, I was told by one of the old NS that they do take a lot of people from alt list because most of the time, people reject or don't pass the teas. How long did it take you to finally get in? This is only my 2nd year. Btw, did you take your pre reqs at ccc too?

I have my fingers crossed for you! This is my first year applying- I could have applied last year but I really needed to work another year and save more money. Super grateful to have made it in the first time. I took my prereqs through Peralta- I live in Oakland- and was able to place out of Drug Dosage by passing the challenge exam. I took Pharm online through Santa Barbara CC, but I'm going to need a lot of review because it wasn't a very good class.

I heard back from Merritt and unfortunately scored a 79 on their criterion score system and an 80 is required for admission. Praying for Chabot or Ohlone! We should be hearing from Chabot next week. We don't hear from Ohlone until the end of May!

@yassqueen One damn point! Yeesh, sorry to hear it, and here's hoping you get Chabot so you get to relax sooner rather than later :) I haven't heard back from Merritt yet- did you hear by letter or email?
