Hi, i am new to this forum so i hope i everything goes well on my first post

I have a few questions on what is the best road to take.

I am currently looking to go into a BSN program but am wondering if a CRNA school would prefer a traditional 2 year BSN program over an accelerated BSN program.

Not sure if everyone knows what an accelerated BSN program is but its offered to students that have a BS in some other major, ex - math, english, bio, chem, etc.

Well I was wondering if it would matter if i picked the 1 year over the 2 year?

So far this is my two routes that i mgiht take.

This might get confusing :p so please try to bear with me

--------

Plan 1

--------

Wait until next year and go to a 2 year BSN

Pro:

Its a state school

EST $10,000 a year w/ room + board + meal plan

Con:

Gotta wait until next year

--------

Plan 2

--------

Wait until next year and go to a accelerated BSN program.

Pro:

Its a state school

EST $10,000 a year w/ room + board + meal plan

Con:

Gotta wait until next year

--------

Plan 3

--------

Try to go to school now at a private university. 2 yr BSN.

Pro:

Get a head start

Get out same time as accelerated BSN

Class load is lighter

Can work + go to school

Con:

Very expensive $17 - $20,000 - Have to commute

--------

Plan 4

--------

Do an ADN program. (not sure if they are still accepting applications). Then later get a BSN.

Pro:

Get a head start

Can work + go to school

Can get a BSN later but more schooling

Con:

Still have to get a BSN

Not sure on price but am sure its expensive because of more schooling.

Please let me know what you would choose and if you have another plan please let me know i am very intrested in what you have to say.

I am going to try to make a poll and hope i don't screw up. First time and want to try a bit of everything :p

I'm in an accelerated BSN program now and I plan on going to CRNA school in a few years. Trust me, if you can do really well in a one year BSN program, you can probably do well in CRNA school. My program is insanely difficult and we're all total overacheivers, because we have to learn a huge volume of info. in a very short time period. But if you chose the accelerated route you definitely won't have time to work and you won't have much of a social life either.
