Hours, on call?

  1. Hi everyone,
What type of shifts do CRNA's work on average? I am a sophmore in Oakland University's BSN program and will be applying to the anesthesia program. I was just curious because I have heard of some who work the 9-5 shifts while others work two 24's and are on call the rest of the week. Any input would be appreciated.

The shifts vary depending upon you work. Some take a lot of call others none. Some work 8,10, or 12 hour shifts and some work as needed. Just depends on where you work.

Most of the job listings I have been looking at say either no cal or Q5-10 days. There is quite a variety of call schedules.
