HELP - anesthesia for cardiac myxoma

  1. I am looking for references on how to manage a patient for removal of an atrial myxoma, but have thus far been unsuccessful. My case is tomorrow and I don't want to show up totally clueless. Thanks in advance if anyone can come up with something.

depends where the myxoma is sitting and how mobile it is.... if the patient can't lay on their back or can't lay flat even if they are decubitus, you may have to have the cardiac surgeons place cannulae into the groin while the patient is awake, because you may have to go onto bypass as soon as you induce....
