central TX hospitals/new grad hiring conditions

Hello everyone!

So I found out that I will be moving to Fort Hood, TX! I already started researching some of the hospitals in central TX (Killeen, Waco, Temple areas) as well as Austin. I know Austin is like an hour away but I'm willing to seek employment there if I have to!

Can anyone give me ANY information on any of the central TX hospitals? In particular:

*Metroplex

*Scott & White (so far from what I've read, it seems to be very reputable and a great place to work! I would LOVE to try and get into their ICU internship program but with my husband being military, I'm not sure if I can make the 1-2 year work committment upon completion of the program :/)

*King's Daughters (not sure if this is an actual hospital? I know they have an ER)

*Providence

*Carl Darnall Army Medical Center (located in Fort Hood. I'm under the impression that Army hospitals only hire experienced nurses...is this true?)

I'm also wondering about the central TX VA centers: Olin E. Teague Medical Center and Waco VA Medical Center (there is also one located in Austin). Are they set up like a regular hospital? I'm interested in med-surg/critical care (ICU/ER) but I'm not sure if they hire new grads.

What are the current new grad hiring conditions in central TX? Good/bad? I graduated in December with my BSN and am planning on taking my NCLEX in March (still waiting on my ATT...I had to submit my application stuff late because I wasn't sure where I was going to end up; originally it was Fort Drum, NY but my husband was able to switch and get a slot in Fort Hood).
