Hi everyone! I take my CCRN this week and am looking for peace of mind,

Ive studied with barrons, PASS CCRN, and the Laura videos. If youve taken the practice exams or any practice tests what were your scores and did you pass the CCRN?

Any information would be much appreciated!

I did the pass corn and barrons and felt like I wasn’t prepared because I was getting 60s on the practice exam but passed on my first try getting 100 out of 125 questions correct...good luck!

I was just barely passing the practice exams but got 101/125 on the CCRN... Know the Barron's material front back and left to right and you will pass it.

update! I passed my CCRN on my first try.

I studied for "a little over a month" and by that I mean for three weeks when I was driving to work (I have a 30-45 min drive) I would listen to the Laura Gasparis videos. I learned a lot from her, very helpful and they hit on key information.

I bought the Barrons book and would try to study at work but it never happened lol. I learned most of the book from Laura Gasparis so i skimmed the book and took note of the bolded/started info.

Two weeks before my test, while also working three nights a week, I would study on my days off. I first skimmed through the Barron book section to see if I got the ** stared/important/bolded content in their book. After that I alternated between the Pass CCRN questions on evolve and the Barron book questions. I honestly stopped using the Barron book by the last week because I didn't do as well on them/some of the questions I thought were irrelevant. I spent pretty much all my time doing questions and then reading rationales. I felt it was a waste of time reading the book after i had listened to the Laura Gasprais videos and noting the important info in the book.

What I spent my time studying/summary:

I work in a Neuro ICU so I spent no time studying Neuro except a quick few min review of practice questions.

I spent 90% of my time studying pulmonary and cardiac

Other 10% on multisystem/endo/hemo/etc

-important to know: DI, SIADH, diabetes, pancreatitis, and liver and sepsis.

Scores:

Barrons practice exams I was scoring 55%-80%

pass CCRN I started with a 72% and ended with 92% on practice exams

(by the end of the pass CCRN questions I felt like I had memorized a lot of the answers but I MADE SURE*** i understood the rationale)

I also purchased the self assessment exam that the AACN offers and scored 65% or 39/60 questions. I took that the day before my exam so that didn't feel good to see but my lowest score was cardiac so I spent the rest of the night reviewing cardiac.

It did not feel cardiac heavy, it felt pretty equal in most topics.

Here was my breakdown

cardio - 22 questions

pulmonary - 21

endocrine/hematology/GI/Renal/skin - 24

Neuro/psych/musculoskeletal - 16

Multisystem - 17

synergy model - 25

I passed my CCRN with 100/125 questions.

If I had to do it all over again I would use the Laura videos (I got them from someone at work), buy the Barron book and skim and note the important points, then spend all my time doing Pass CCRN questions. They were similar to the exam and I believe I got at least 2 or 3 exact questions from the question bank.

I was looking over the internet like crazy trying to find some insight or helpful notes so please feel free to ask anything!!!

I’m currently using Pass CCRN question bank for practice, but not sure if I would be better with ACCN practice question bank. Has anyone use both, how do you compare it? Which one prepares you better?

I recently took and passed my CCRN. I also used Baron’s, listened to the Laura videos, and used Pass CCRN while I was at work just for practice questions. I felt like I was bombing the Baron’s exams, but when I actually took the test, I did quite well and found that those questions were on par with Baron’s. Good luck!
