Does anyone know about CCP's insurance for nursing students? I am quitting work to go to school. Can't afford COBRA and got turned down for IBX

I honestly haven't heard of such a thing, but if you contact the Allied Health office there should be someone who could confirm/deny its existence.

I'm not trying to sound negative but good luck trying to get in touch w/someone down at CCP. While I love all of the professors, the administration is HORRIBLE!! They never return phone calls, never are at their desk and are so RUDE! I don't think CCP offers a seperate health insurance just for nursing students.. maybe contact the school nurse? Did she speak to your class at orientation in May? I'm going into my 2nd year and currently have IBX and am paying $250/month! What about working part time this way you can keep your health insurance? It's def. doable! Good luck!

I know the school has mandatory health insurance for international students - why, I still do get it when even 50 million Americans cannot afford any health insurance - which American citizens are not eligible for. The Insurance provider does not insure American citizens.
Bluecross and Aetna have student packages for approx. 26 and below ages. I have one of those and it comes down to about depriving myself 2 bottles of soft drinks or juice per day and it comes with my more benefits than the school's insurance - which is why I opted for it.
