CCBC students, who was your favorite A&P instructor/professor??

Published

Hello all!

I am already preparing myself for this coming Spring, and I figured I would ask the "experts" :D, who they recommend...or do not recommend...for Anatomy and Physiology I, at CCBC (either Essex or Dundalk). My current Biology instructor teaches, and I really like her, so I also hoping that someone mentions her :yeah:

Hope to hear some input soon!

Both ***** and ***** were incredible for any of the science prereqs. Good luck.

Go to www.ratemyprofessors.com and look for your school biology professors. See what other people wrote about them.

I had Dr. ******* (sp) for A&P 1, he was a great teacher but very hard to follow. I described him as one of my favorite teachers that I would never take again!! I had mixed feelings about the class. I just felt like his tests did not match his lectures very well and all his tests were essay questions. I got a B in the class and I am a straight A student otherwise...so I was really disappointed.

I also had Dr. ***** at CCBC Essex. His class was extremely rich, especially in Neuroscience, which is his specialty. His tests were designed to see if you actually understood the material he presented; if you want to learn by reading a book and memorizing things, that is not the way he teaches. BUT, if you want to learn a wealth of information that will be VERY useful to you when you are in Nursing school (as I am now at UMB), I would highly recommend Dr. *****'s class. He came highly recommended to me by others and I am happy to pass it on because I thought he was brilliant.

Cheers!

I know you asked about A&P, but if you haven't taken Micro, you MUST take it with **** ****** at CCBC. Most amazing professor I have ever had. It's been four years since his class and I still have fond memories of him!! Class isn't a breeze but YOU WILL LEARN

Everyone is different, I really liked Dr. ***** a lot...he was very smart however I felt as if I were a medical student in his class. He was way above my thinking level at the time, I have never had a teacher quite like him. He never used the book so that was a nice perk...didn't have to spend a million dollars for a textbook. I had already taken A&P 109 so I had a general background in all of the topics but he just lectured his own way and on whatever he wanted. Yes, very interesting and informative....but did not help me in the slightest to pass his tests. I could sit all day and listen to him talk, he is good....I was just totally lost on the testing and I know I was not the only one according to other students and what I have read about him. I think most of the science pre-recs have nothing at all to do with Nursing...and a lot of teachers do not gear the class towards entering the medical field...he did do that and I still remember a lot of what he said. To each his own :) If you end up talking his class please let us know what you thought.
