Hello, I am starting a topic for the cohort at Community College of Baltimore County who will be applying for the Spring 2020 semester. I know that applications will be due soon at the end of this month, so please share your nerves, questions, ect. Good luck everyone!

I just left from seeing an advisor. He said he talk to someone from admissions and they sending out letters next week.

my friend who's in the program now said that last year she got an email from them saying she got in the program. not sure if they email or send letters or both, but on CAS it says your supposed to check the status yourself i remember at the end it made you check this box. wonder if it is in the mail will it be priority or next day because sometimes mail can take a minute for you to receive and you have to pay your seat fee ASAP.

If you go onto the CAS application, there's a tab that says "check status". Click that and it will show your app, it says "download application (PDF)", click the little download icon, and it will show you everything and GPAs are all the way at the bottom.

Rumor has it they don't go by the GPA there, rather they calculate from your pre reqs or something. Who knows at this point.

My science gpa on the CAS application is lower than the the science gpa that my guidance counselor calculated which is very werid.

They sent emails to my friend that got in for Spring 2019 and my friend that got in for Fall 2019, and you do not have to pay your seat fee ASAP. They give you a couple weeks (3ish), that's why sometimes it takes a while for people on the waitlisted to get moved to accepted.

They have to give you enough time to decide wether or not you want to go their or if you're waiting to hear from another program. ?

Great!! I wonder if the 3 week deadline will be the same even though it took them some time to send out letters.

CAS is evil, I'm just putting that out there lol. So Cas takes every single attempt you've had at a class and averages it instead of just taking the better grade.

For example: Took Chem once, got a D (which has a weight of 1.0/4.0 on gpa scale)..retook got an A (which has a weight of 4.0/4.0 on gpa scale) ...Cas says "nah you get a 2.5!"

Probably since they advertise that it typically take 6-8 weeks for them to make a decision (we're in week 7), so they have probably planed it so we still have 3 weeks to decide. They made us wait 8 weeks to find out if we got in, they can wait 3 weeks lol (but for the sake of people that get waitlisted, hpefully accepted people make decisions quick lol).

I've seen that some people on the waitlist were still waiting beginning of december...I can't wait that long lol

yeah I feel like advising would've told us that before we applied. my advisor told me I was in good shape to apply, so I feel like they aren't gonna go by CAS. fingers crossed!
