I have recently applied for a position with Humana. I have read a lot of negative comments on glass door from previous employees, but not much information on RNs that work for Humana. Can anyone give any insight?

Thanks so much,

Cindy

Hey Dianne,

I'm curious if you accepted the position with Humana!

thanks chica,

i have worked from my home as a case manager for about 4 years and love it. how is the flexability with humana? do they tend to micro manage? that is what i have read. i currently have a job that lets me adjust my hours as needed and is very family friendly. thanks so much for your response. i have applied for a position that is on-site and work from home combined. i'm feeling a little isolated working from home every day.

I work for Humana, I feel they micro manage for the position to be salaried. Feels like I punch a clock. I put in wayyyyyy more hrs and get less "comp time" but I guess that's my fault. I like doing a good job

I had a telephone interview today with Humana for a Care Manager position and I am scheduled to have a face to face interview on December 3rd. I was told to have questions prepared for the interview so I was wondering what would be good ones to ask. Also, I would like to know what to expect during this interview because I have never applied for a position like this before. This is very different from what I have been doing my entire nursing career (I have been nothing but a bedside nurse). Any advice would be helpful.

I hope you're still checking this website. I have an offer from Humana. I'm currently working as a case manager for United Healthcare, which means my "customer" is not the patient, but Walmart. They care very little about their employees so we have minimal resources to offer them, and we cannot keep the cases open for long because, to Walmart, it's all about the number of people we contact. My offer is a bit less than I'm making now, but my current job is so stressful (And I have to commute!) that over half the team has quit, including two managers. I'm one of the top 2 performers, so I'm not afraid of meeting metrics.

Here are my questions:

1. I can't seem to get benefit information so I can crunch numbers to compare my current salary to the one they offered, Any idea how I can find benefit info so I can compare apples to apples?

2. Do I get to keep the same patients for a while? I like to keep people once we have a relationship.

3. My current job is VERY stressful, as my caseload is >600 due to half the team quitting. Non-clinical people at Walmart micro-manage our jobs with demands that make no sense clinically.

4. I don't mind call monitoring or work tracking, as I work very hard and have nothing to hide. Is the call monitoring used for constructive teaching?

5. If you are a high performer, do you get raises or bonuses?

6. Is there a sense of community among the nurses working from home? Are they supportive of each other?

7. Are the metrics hard to reach? Do you feel he need to work extra hours to meet them?

Thanks so much in advance for any advice you can offer!

Dianne

I am new to this site. I just accepted a position with Humana since my current job is coming to an end. I am requesting honest feedback about the employment. I will be going for training soon, so my journey will begin with Humana as a home visitor. I was told that I would visit about 5 people per day in their home and then update the computer when I return.

I need the flexibility - so can anyone comment on that?

Thanks for your time

I am currently an RN care/case manager with Humana Cares. It is absolutely not micro managed, I make my own schedule and see people when it works best for myself and my patients. You really have to be self motivated because nobody really tells you what to do. I have 8-15 patients at a time and see them weekly until they are discharged from the program. I love it.

I recently was hired as a field care manager. I am excited about the opportunity!

are you salary or contract?

do you like it so far? were you hired as salary or contract?
