They are accepting students into ASN in some campuses. They are not approved by Florida BON for ASN. Can those students still sit for the NCLEX?

If they are not approved by the state, then students will not be eligible to sit for NCLEX.

Per FL BON, Carleen Health Institute only has approval for a practical nursing program; very few graduates at any of their locations (less than ten) have taken the NCLEX -- with less than 50% pass rate listed on BON website for 2020.
Look at FL BON NCLEX pass rates --any school that averages above 85% will give you a foundation to be able to pass the exam and obtain LPN/RN license.

In my state PA, any program that has 3 classes with less than 85% pass rate is placed on probation and must undergo corrective action -otherwise school is closed.
National NCLEX pass rate is above 86% for 2020 (noted at bottom of PA schools list). Compare FL schools to PA's NCLEX pass rates

Lexus L. - what is it that you're looking for with all your multiple postings re all these questionable nsg programs????? It's like you're just beating around the bush! Asking the same kind of questions of various schools of very questionable/unscrupulous SONs.
It seems like you're hoping some miracle program will graduate you and you'll be able to continue along your way. Like none of those programs you've questioned have any thing to brag about!! Rather you should be running away really fast & NOT looking back.
I believe you're smart enough to realize the old adage of 'if something seems to be too good, it prob isn't'. You keep on trying though!
The Shangrilla SON does not exist! I believe that you'll just have to do school the old fashioned way like we all do/did.

This is a very important point. Florida DOE and BON keep granting approval until a program is down 10% of the national pass rate for 3 consecutive years! You could be in one of the really low years that has resulted from a neglected, poor curriculum. Keeping a curriculum current, providing good faculty and clinical experiences, factoring in how NCLEX tests may impact on the curriculum, exposing students to all kinds of questions.. This is a full time job that never can be neglected. There is no resting on laurels....

Hi any info is greatly appreciated. I graduated from this school in 2016 LPN to RN transition . As you may know this school is cash only no financial aid. I owed money. Never sat for the board. Thanks to COVID I was able to save money. I reach out to Carleen and they agree if I pay they will let me sit for the board. My gut feeling said check BON. Sure enough only approved for LPN. My heart broke. Trust me I am full of regret. I screwed up in so many ways. I call back and they act surprised and insist I can sit for the boards. I want to believe the dean. But since she isn’t acknowledging they lost approval . I was on the phone with BON 2 hours. At first the rep said they are still approved. So I insisted are you sure? I only see for LPN finally she realizes it and says yes only LPN. So I asked because I graduated while they still had approval would I be allowed to take the Boards? She transfers me and ultimately disconnected. I call back and placed on hold again until now it’s after business hours on a Friday…
what are my options. I rather stay an LPN than start from scratch again.

What if I graduated before this school lost approval. I took to long to sit for boards ? so I have to start a new LPN to RN bridge from scratch?

Graduation in 2016 from LPN-RN program without taking licensing exam: Only FL BON can answer this question. Send them a certified letter regarding your situation is a best bet for response.
In my state, PA enacted a law that nursing students must take NCLEX within a year of passing a program in order to be licensed UNLESS BON contacted regarding extenuating circumstance.
It is in a nursing students best interest to take NCLEX test ASAP and within a year post graduation to maximize ability to practice as an LPN/RN after putting blood, sweat and tears into nursing program.
Maybe try and get in touch with someone who went there? They are still enrolling students. And their review classes are all full too. I don't know what all these students are doing after. They must be sitting for the NCLEX somehow. I would imagine if they weren't able to word would spread and people would stop signing up.
