When dealing with a patient, which proves more important, genuinely caring for the patient and making them feel comfortable or providing the most efficient medical treatment or is a combination of the two?

No, I have never had a stay at the hospital and am simply curious to know what reality is like working as a nurse. The textbook only teaches so much...

And that's why you have clinical rotations so that you get the hands-on experience of caring for patients and not just reading theory from a book :)

In reality, your job is going to center around making sure all of your patients poop on a regular basis.
