Do any of you who are currently LVN's plan to go back to school to specialize in a specific area of nursing? Any ideas or advice would really be appreciated.

I graduated from LPN school last spring and I am just starting on prereq's for an RN bridge program, which hopefully can be completed within the next 1-2 years. I just started in a LDRP unit in a hospital and I hope to either continue to L&D, PP, or maybe NICU as an RN. There's so many different opportunities out there in nursing!

I'm just seeking to earn the "RN" title, as it possesses more earning power and advancement opportunities than the LVN license.

I am going to Massage Therapy School in the fall. I plan to continue into medical massage with a specialty in Lymphedema Therapy. There is a continued ed program in my area for this specailty.

I'm just starting LPN school this September, so I don't know what the future holds! At this point, I think I would love to work with post partum mothers (since an LPN can't do actual L + D) or on the pediatric ward.
however, I'm not ruling anything out. I'm sure I'll have a much better idea of what I'd like to do after I'm finished my course.
I'll be 32 when I finish LPN school and if I LOVE nursing, then my goal will be to be a full BScN by the time I'm 40.

I wish to get certifications in long term care and addiction, maybe dialysis. Also, I am seeking to go into home care. I am not crazy about the hospital, but since I am a new nurse, this is the best place to be for experience for the time being. Not interested in being an RN, I am satisfied in exploring options at this level. The massage therapy deal sounds very interesting...if I see something like that here in New York, I would certainly do it...or reflexology.
