Career opportunity or not really?

I could really use some advice from nurses who have gone through similar situations... I'll try to make this short but give necessary details.

I've been an ADON for 5 years. The stress, long hours, unexpected weekends, on call, and overbearing deceitful and liar of a DON have led me to explore other options in nursing. The biggest factor jay he don, she lies so much for cya-purposes and I and the other RNS are like the scapegoats. Going to the nha about her is out of the questions because they are friends. Calls to hr have been fruitless.

Anyways, LTC is not my dream job anyhow so I applied for an occupational health/ infusion services position at the hospital near me. The rate offered is 5.15 less an hour than what I am making now and hr isn't budging on the rate. The stress would be minimal and definitely no weekends and no on call. I would receive proper training and get out from under the dark cloud of my boss and the LTC setting. The only thing holding me back is the financials, I am a single mom and currently don't live on a budget, so I could cut back and make lifestyle changes to make up for it. I just don't know if it would be feasible or worth it. Thoughts? Suggestions? Negotiating tactics? Help please!! Thanks

No weekends, no on call, and getting away from a toxic boss seems worth learning a little financial discipline to me.

Well said, thank you

Is your mental health & sanity worth $5.15/hr?

I've been there and done that and no thank you. No amount of money is worth the stress, anxiety, and truckloads of BS that that type of environment has to offer. I would happily turn in my keys and show myself the door, taking what's left of my sanity with me.
