Care plan guides?

by mamacashew mamacashew (Member)

Greetings everyone, I am hoping someone out there can give me a few suggestions on this subject. I am getting ready to start NS and I know that we have to do care plans. I'm going to assume they teach us how to do these in class, but instructors can't possibly cover everything.

What I'm wondering is does anyone have an suggestions on books to get to help with the creation of care plans, kind of like a guide or something similar?

The book we use is "Nursing Diagnosis Handbook" by Ackley & Ladwig. I love it.

I think the general consensus is that care plans aren't challenging, just time-consuming (Pathophysiology, looking up lab values, nursing interventions and rationales, looking up medications, etc). More than likely, your instructors will cover everything.
