It is approved by the state board of Florida it’s not Accredited Which means that the credits cannot be transferred to another institution but you can’t sit for your boards
You can sit for your state board

I am considering attending the next start date in August. I’m super nervous because I’m not finding much information on this school. From what I can gather and what I’ve researched this is what I found. The school is NOT ACCREDITED, for most schools this is a red flag and the student should immediately request more information and look to see if the school could me consider a “diploma mill”. I’ve contacted the school and they’ve stated that they are licensed and approved by the state board of nursing in FLORIDA. I’ve done my research and indeed they can be found on the Florida dept of health website as an approved college. I will admit that I got super freaked out because on their paperwork it states “our program does not hold institutional or programmatic accreditation”. Those are important! However, from research it is stated that accreditation is optional or voluntary for programs. Ofc, it becomes absolutely essential for financial aid and transferring credits. Although, to sit for the NCLEX your program needs to be state approved for most state BONs. My next thing is after speaking with the director of admissions I asked her about clinicals and she says students are currently doing clinicals online. I still have to inquire more information about this because covid is very much still a thing but I’m not sure if BONs will be continuing to allow programs to offer supplemental clinicals online. As far as transferring credits, I asked the school if they are affiliated with any schools because students may be worried that their credits will not transfer. The school is affiliated with Grand Canyon University. I called the university myself and they did say that they accept credits and degrees from the college so I would be able to get my BSN at that school (online) after successful completion of NCLEX. I am bringing in A ton of nursing credits which will leave me to complete two semesters. That’s okay with me and I am optimistic. I don’t think I would recommend a pre nursing student to start.
also I’ve been calling my state BON about the possibility on if they would accept my transcript from that school because it’s unaccredited and I haven’t gotten a straight forward answer. However, online (the official website) it does say the only requirement is an approved nursing program.
I've spoken with the school on this and they said they had no issues as far as nursing boards and sending in letter of completion and etc.
Thank you. I will be applying somewhere else. This is so risky. No thanks ☺️
Good idea! Sorry for all the typos. I’m literally only going because I’m coming from a different program and I’m looking to finish quickly.
Thank you anyway. Good luck.

@MyasJounrney2Rn Can I ask how your experience has been so far?

I am currently enrolled, and only approaching the second week of classes. Before I started the program, I was very scared about the school not being competitive compared to other schools in the vicinity. Classes are online, professors are good, and the nursing chair is present/helpful. The clinical is held on the weekends, and I will be traveling to do my skills check offs. I am expected to graduate next semester.
Is there a way to DM you on here? Can I send you my email or text? I have a few questions if it's okay.
