Cardiology & Neurology Floor--First Job

Hello everyone,

I will likely be accepting a job offer on a Cardiology/Neurology floor. Can anyone recommend resources that would helpful as I prepare myself for this? I'd like to know more detail about many of the conditions that I will find so I will better be able to take care of people. The nurse manager mentioned a few things off hand...stroke, pneumonia, Afib with rvr, etc.

saw this after responding to your other post- good choice w cards/neuro! you will learn a lot. i don't know much about neuro, but i'd review basic ekg interp and basic neuro assessment procedures. abx (since you mentioned pneumonia) and cardiac meds are always good places to start! good luck!

and in response to your other post, if you end up feeling like it's not a great fit after a year, you can always go to outpatient or psych! : )

Yes, thank you so much for the advice! I feel a little bit more rushed to make a decision because nursing was my second degree and I belabored that decision super long so I just don't want to sit on it too much longer.
