Guys,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that peds patients receiving racemic epi should be on a cardiac monitor. I can't find any evidence to back me up, though. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!!

this is definitely true, i always have them on monitors. at my facility now, it's actually written into the policy, stating "all inpatients requiring racemic epinephrine therapy shall be on electronic cardiac and respiratory monitoring systems. electronic cardiac and respiratory monitoring can be terminated only on the written order of a physician after the physician, in his/her medical judgement, has determined that the patient is stable and not subject to relapse"
