Capital Health or St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing?

Published

Im a PA resident but i live near PA/NJ line near trenton, not many Nursing schools choices around me. (will look into Abington) but recently came across Mercer County Community College (which closer to me than my Philadelphia community which i am now enrolled and also bucks county) anyhow, I learned of 2 co op programs they have Capital and St Francis?

Any recommandation? which is 'better' for lack of better term.

any info is greatly appriated.

St. Francis is one of MCCC's cooperative programs. It is a wonderful program! The classes are usually 2 days/ week and 2 days of clinical at various hospitals (they use at least St. Francis, RWJ at Hamilton, St. Mary's, Lower Bucks, and Capital Health System- you are assigned to a specific one for the course). The professors are extremely knowledgeable and willing to help you learn the information. I think you would be pleased. They have had a high NCLEX pass rate. I hope this helps.

I appreciate this info thanks!!

Hello, I have a question. I will begin august 2010 to st francis nursing school. I have been taking nursing classes for the last two semesters. So once I begin just taking the core courses. Can you tell me if st francis have coop nursing programs with other hospital where you can work almost like an externship or student nurse. Im looking forward to june 24, uniform fitting and paperwork turn in. What will I expect in August for orienation. I often take to Elease but I would like to have a students perspective.

Hello Nursingschooldiva, I'm also starting in August 2010!! I just have the core classes to do too, do you know anything about how the sch. works with clinicals? I'm looking forward to June 24th as well!

well Im in my last core class which ends june 30th. thank the lord. email me and we can exchange information so I can look for you on june 24th. Im so excited. I wanted to get in last year and there were no more seats I waited for someone to drop out to get there seat but no one dropped out so they gave me the option to finish up my classes. So all I have no core classes left. give me the date to get books please include it in the email so I know its you and not someone else who may have seen my email address. Look forward to meeting you soon. Oh I was told that the august semester will be 3 days of all day orientation. then we will have two days of clinical and two days of lecture. Classroom is nice. It is only from about 8-12/1pm. Clinicals are about 7-3 two days a week. I have taken the other nursing classes such as nursing pharmacology, nsg-134 health assessment, and moral ethics. I have also taken all my sciences and such too. It wasnt too bad. please contact me it would be fun to meet a fellow class mate.:nurse:

I'm so excited too! I took all my sciences but I still have to take moral ethics which I'll probably do online this summer, and I didnt know you could take pharm before nursing 1, how was it? If you dont mind me asking where did you take it, I'm trying to take as many classes as I can this summer before school starts. Also how do I email you on here? That would great to exchange information so we can look for each other on the 24th! Last year I tried to apply and I was told there were no more seats as well, and also they told me to finish A&P 2 before I started the clinicals.

email [email protected] I was there today to take learning style test and get fitted for uniforms. I was the girl with the gray scrubs on. forward me your email too. I got fitted first cause I had to leave for a dr appt. Well, you can not take pharmacology til you begin. It has to be set up with the st francis and signed off. They made an exception for me. It wasn't bad thou! this moral ethics class was difficult. health assessment wasn't bad either.

I was there around 1ish, I don't think I saw you. My emails [email protected] I'm glad we got our sch's today it doesn't seem that bad. Oh no moral choices was difficult? I think I'm going to take it online
