Hi and welcome to the site

There are a few threads in the Canadian forum which may help you on what to study. Sorry but not sure what is available in French

I would check with bookstores in Montreal for finding the books in French. You can access them via a Google search, they would have the best supply for you.

Best of luck on your exam.

Hi there,

I did my training in Canada and wrote the exam 3 years ago.

You need the preparation book from CNA/AIIC wich is available in french.

If you want books in french you can look for Soins infirmiers medecine-chirurgie des editions beauchemins.

If your english is good enough to understand what you read I would buy an NCLEX RN preparation book because the book from CNA/AIIC only have 300 multiple chose questions and 75 short answer questions.

I passed the exam but if I knew at that time, I would have bought a Q&A review for NCLEX.

I hope this help.

good luck.

I strongly recommend AGAINST buying the NCLEX guide. While it's true that the CRNE prep books don't contain as many practice questions, the focus of the CRNE itself is quite different from the NCLEX. The emphasis on the CRNE is more toward the psychosocial aspects of nursing care, the practice of nursing in Canada, the role of the nurse in Canadian health care and health promotion, whereas the NCLEX reflects more clinical content. Many non-Canadian candidates who studied only the NCLEX guides were not successful with the CRNE.

Just a footnote: There are no short answer questions on October's exam.

CRNE without short answer questions will be until february 2010.. am i right?

Sorry for the wrong info, the CNA website inform about the fact that the exam only consist of multiple choice questions (As of February 2008 and until February 2010).

I just saw that they were still selling the same book.

I was not referring to the NCLEX guide as an only resource to study for the CRNE but to help answer multiple choice questions.

I guess I could only help by giving the name of books in french that I had but it might already old!

Thank you very much for the information.

I have the Mosby's Comprehensive review and Q & A review for NCLEX-RN

I have the Preparation Guide for RN exam in French .

Did I need the book for Pharmacology or the information in Mosby's it's enough?

How about the Clinical Nursing Skills(Basic Advanced Skills) of Sandra F. Smith,Donna Duell and Barbara C.Martin.

Thank you then

If your exam is in two months, you might want to focus on things like med/surg, peds, etc...

I don't know Mosby's Comprehensive review but it must covers some pharmacology.

May be somebody else can comment on that.

Personally, I don't remember having lots of questions on meds but it could be different and it's always good to know the most common meds that you can find in a review book.

good luck
