Hi hopeless_nurse,

I'll be completing my degree next year in BC and then writing the Canadian NCLEX. After completing the Canadian NCLEX, were you required to also write the USA NCLEX to practice in Washington state? (similar situation, husband works in Seattle). The WA Department of Licensing reads like it would have to complete the USA version also. Any insight would be appriciated. Thank you!

Sorry for the late responses folks. It took me 5 months for all the CGFNS b/s to go through, since it there were a couple requests back and forth with my university.

Hi Murse_2019,

So sorry for the late reply. You don't have to write the NCLEX twice. Once you write the Canadian NCLEX you should get started on the CGFNA process because that takes a long time. I applied in August and I didn't get my final approval until end of December. After that getting the WA license is fairly quick and straight forward. Let me know if you need any help navigating CGFNA because it is a frustrating process!
