Greetings,
I am hoping that I have posted this in the correct category. I have read a couple of articles on here in regards to moving from canada to ny state as a lpn, but they all seem to be outdated, and I would like to know if anyone has some more advice based on my specific criteria.
I graduated a year ago as a RPN in ontario. I am currently working as a RPN and am a dual citizen (american and canadian) so the immigration aspect is not something that I am worried about. Does anyone have any advice on where I should begin? I read that in order to be able to write the NCLEX I need to have clearance from cgfns first. is this true? after this is cleared do i just apply to write the nclex and that is that? I dont know what order to do these tasks in, or if I am missing anything. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

You don't apply to write the NCLEX. You apply for a license. If you meet the state's requirements you will be allowed to write the exam.

You need to go to NY state BON website and see what the requirements are and then meet them. NY generally requires CVS which is CGFNS obtaining all documents. Processing times approx 4-6 months before being allowed to sit NCLEX
