Trent University Compressed Nursing 2016

Hi everyone,

It's that time of year again! I have applied to Trent University's compressed nursing program for Fall 2016. We can share admissions/GPA information here to help each other out! My cGPA is 76% & the chances seem very slim considering the cut-off of high 70s.

does anyone mind giving me insight about the housing residences and living arrangement styles offered at trent? For example, single room vs single apartment?

this message is coming a bit late into the conversation but i think some people out there can relate. So as of now i've completed 2 years at York in a program called health studies and for fall 2016 i applied to the 4 year bscn prog at trent. didnt get in so they offered me a prog called honours science program. i was told that courses done in that program can transfer into the compressed trent prog like bio and psychology. I was wondering if anyone has completed this pathway. accepting this offer isnt a guarantee into the compressed prog next year obviously and is dependent on the grades you achieve but is there a preference for a current trent student (assuming not)? What was last years cut off and if anyone knows, this years as well? to clarify, i would complete a year of honours science then transfer into trent compressed. any advice is great.

hey I'm not sure if I'd be of any help...but I was in the same position last year. I did an honorary science degree at uoft and applied to Trent and they offered me the same thing you got...I dicided not to go through with it (because I already did 4 years of science) and instead stayed at uoft for a 5th to get my grades up. This years gpa cutoff is 2.7 For the last two years of your undergrad(according to their site). Though I've noticed from this site that many people who got early offers have had really high cgpas. If you think you can do well in that one year of honours science then maybe take the offer

I Believe if i could do well in that year of honours science but i guess im just not totally confident and have to make my decision. sigh.. thank you anyway. i just dont want to go to honours science, maybe not get into trents compressed, then waste my time when i could have just stayed in my program at york and finish it then figure out other compressed programs offered at different schools.

Does anyone know if there's a Facebook group for the Trent compressed nursing program 2016-2018? I haven't seen one yet!

stay in your program and improve your grades, trent wont give you any preference just because you studied there for a year. Every school sends alternative program offers to unsuccessful candidates because they do not want to lose that student and the money they bring to the school. Be smart do not waste your money, just improve your GPA the cheapest way possible

Sorry to hear that some others have not had a great experience at Trent! I am currently in the compressed program as well, going into my pre-consolidation placement this summer and will wrap up with my consolidation from Sept-Dec. My experience has been great. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

Hi Melinda, I have a question about the compressed nursing program in Trent. How difficult is it to achieve an 80-85 average? is it harder in first or second year?
