Can Unemployed New Grad RNs still apply for a student externship?

It has been 5 months since I passed my NCLEX and became a RN. I have applied everywhere in NYC/Westchester/LI and still nothing. I have my ADN and am graduating with my BSN Spring '13. Even if you know people at a hospital or anywhere, employers STILL want a BSN and/or Experience. Being that I have neither, does anyone know if you can STILL apply to summer student externships? Or no, because you're already licensed? Thanks in advance!

You'll have to ask the individual program coordinator. Different facilities may have different eligibility rules.

At my hospital, once a person has graduated from their entry-level program, they are ineligible for an extern position.
