I'm overseas for the next 4 years, and am considering where I should apply to midwifery school. The UK states that they have the best nurse midwifery program and if you are already a RN, BSN, it only takes 18 months. I've also looked into applying at Frontier, but not sure how that would work living in Europe and trying to find a preceptor.

Anyone know if a UK midwife can get licensed to practice in the US?

Anyone know about the Frontier program and if it would be feasible to find a preceptor here in Europe?

TIA!!!

I think you might want to check out whether doing your midwifery training in the UK would be possible. Normally there are very few places on midwifery courses that are not NHS funded, and for the NHS funded places you would need to have been resident in the UK for 3 years before applying, as well as have indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

I do plan to stay in the UK for 3 years - working (I'm applying for my license at present) and then probably another 3 years after that. I will check into the schooling though. I'll contact the NHS. Thanks!
