Hey there...
I am having to "decode" a lengthy assessment for an extra assignment for school (This isn't being graded, FYI). I've gotten most of it done, but I'm having problems with a few....
Can anyone of yall help me with these?
L pneumo
(This was in a sentence.....CXR revealed RUL pneumonia and L pneumo.......I know that it says : chest xray revealed Right upper lobe, but not sure about the end)
Abx
(Antibiotics???)
ATC
(In sentence...Accucheck ordered q1h ATC)
MCA lesion
CVICU
DHT
(DHT inserted & Jevity started?)
S/P AMI
(I know that SP is status post - but not sure about AMI)
I really do appreciate any help with this guys.

Pneumo is probably a pneumothorax
Abx is antibiotics
CVICU Cardiovascular ICU
DHT- Dobhoff tube (Jevity is the tube feeding)
AMI- Acute myocaridal infarction
MCA is the middle cerebral artery
I don't know what ATC is...
Around the clock???
Thanks so much for the help! I really appreciate it!:kiss
Okay, I have one more....
PICC line inserted in RAC
I know what the PICC line is, but what about the RAC??
The right AC (antecubital).
I promise this will be the last one....but does L chest tube mean left? I'm sorry, I just want to be sure

L pneumo is a left pneumothorax
ATC is around-the-clock
PICC in the RAC is a peripherally inserted central catheter in the Right antecubital fossa
L chest tube means the left chest tube. R means the right.
Thank you!
You guys are all so awesome!:wink2:
Okay, I lied!
This is the very last thing...I missed it earlier...
SS Insulin
what is the ss?
Thanks a lot you guys!
ss = sliding scale
I feel so stupid! I knew that!:imbar
I deal with that every week in clinical! Please forget that I asked that!
Again, thanks for the help!
