Can I Sit for the STNA Exam?

I took the STNA class in May 2012. I got a job at a home healthcare agency but they didnt require I got state tested so I didn't take it. I've worked there for a year and have been contracted out on hospice jobs as well. Am I eligible to take the exam because I'm currently holding a job as an STNA or do I need to retake the classes? I want to make the switch to a hospital and for that I need to be state tested, but I don't want to retake the classes if I don't have to.
