Can I get license without taking Philippine exam?

hello guys... can i ask you about something?? please i need your help..

I was going to ask about what will happen when i return to the states because i graduated BSN in the Philippines but im a american citizen i was born in the states but i studied in the phils.. pls guys you gotta help me out.... and im from texas.. pls pls pls.. i desperately need your reply guys... thank you... i already have a SS and residency over there.. what do i need to do????? hhhheeellllppppp.......

each state has diferent egulations re licensing internationally educated nrses (ien). will need to check state bon regs where you are planning to live or practice. link to boards of nursing found bottom every an page.

It would seem to me your school and the Texas BON would be the best place to find answers to these questions....?

I would suggest you take the Philippine Boards, you choose to go school outside your country of birth, what is the rush? If you plan to work in the USA......many states look for a license from the country you went to school. I believe Texas will allow you to take the NCLEX, but if you choose to move you may have difficulty later on.

The NCLEX is very difficult for foreign grads most fail the first time. Study hard. And the job market is not easy here although Texas maybe easier than other parts of the country.

hi spiderman... are you a us born citizen? are you from the philippines? so you mean you just took the nclex in texas? or you had to go to school in texas or complete something before you could take the state board in TX? pls i badly need a reply.. pls help me.. hehehe.. thank you so much..

I didn't take my ph license coz i'm not going to work there. I did take my NCLEX this feb and got my license but the bad side is i'm still looking for a job. I was born in the phil by the way. Where are you in the ph and here in texas? You can pm me anytime if you need some help. :D

spiderman.. where in texas are you? im also pinoy, graduated in the philippines. im from houston, but when i was a new grad 2 years ago, couldnt find any job in houston or even san antonio..nobody was hiring me, until i looked outside houston.. my current hospital, they hire new grad!! but it's 2 hrs away in houston
