Hi everyone:loveya:
I am new here
I am in my second year in nursing program
I have an assignment I want someone to help me in it because I do not have any ideas.
Throughout their career, nurses encounter all sorts of patients, from the
short-term to the long-term patients. Some patients and their families offer
nurses gifts as a token of appreciation. Gifts range from cash to fancy
dinners and jewelry. Sometimesit is extremely important to a patient to be
able to give their nurses a gift, and it creates a problem when the nurses
say "no."
Explore and criticize this issue from an ethical and moral perspective,
incorporating the relationship between ethics and professional practice.
You are to critically discuss:
a) Why it is important to patients and families to offer nurses gifts?
b) The significance of ethical and moral concepts to guide decisions in such situations.
c) The cultural aspects, and health institutions rules and regulations to govern such situations.
So I want someone to help me and will appreciate his or her help

The Nursing Code of Ethics is a great resource.
You can read it here http://www.nursingworld.org/MainMenuCategories/EthicsStandards/CodeofEthicsforNurses.aspx
Click on "code of ethics for nurses with interpretive statements"
I did not start yet because I do not have references
