can i get a job while waiting for my license

hi everyone! i just passed my nclex pn exam and im eager to get a job coz it would be my first job. can i apply for a job as an LVN while waiting to get my license? thank you..

A prospective employer can verify your license by phone, fax, or on the internet once your license is posted on the Board's website. So, yes, you can get a job once your license is verified, even before you get the actual license in the mail.

Even if you can't begin working until you're officially licensed (are you indicated as licensed in the state database? I know they do it kind of weird down in Calif) you could quite possibly get hired. Good luck getting a good job that you like.

My first (and still only) official job was as an LPN, too, and I love it. I can't wait until I become an RN later this year, though.

usually you pay the optional $30 fee (in CA anyways) when applying for your license to be able to work until you hear the results of your NCLEX or 6 months later...which ever comes first!
