Can civilian nurses get jobs in military hospitals abroad?

I will be a new graduate in May and yes, I know I don't have much experience yet, but I'm willing to throw myself into it. I've lived abroad before, so adapting to new cultures is not new to me and I would love to go again! Which are the best military hospitals to look at? Is it even possible for civilians to get jobs there? I would love to work at the Naval hospital in Naples, for example. Any resources would be welcome!!! Happy New Year :)

I should image it will be hard as a civillian nurse as preference may be given to spouses of serving soldiers

Try usajobs.gov -- everything is posted there. Most jobs overseas will require experience. Good luck.

Yes! I was a civilian nurse, although I worked for Indian Health.

But....you must get a year or two (I forgot if you need two), of experience first. At least that was the way it was when I was working. Right now I have a friend that just got hired to Ft Sam, here in Texas.

Alot depends on the SOFA that we have with the country that the hospital is located at. The SOFA dictates how civilians are hired by the military. As Lunah has stated look at USAJOBS and you will need experience.

Yes, I have a couple friends working at Landstuhl as civilians. Check out USAJOBS. The contracts are supplied by the Army. They usually want at least one year exp. They pay for all your moving expenses.
